The first urban winery in Bordeaux
Laurent Bordes and Annica Landais-Haapa are the newest urban winemakers, travelling the vineyards of France in the quest for good grapes. Their project is called Les Chais du Port de la Lune, Port of the Moon's Cellars, first cellar to vinify, press and mature wines in the City of Bordeaux since a long time. Their ambition is to create wines where they are consumed, paying homage to their partner vine growers as well as the origins of the grapes.
The installation of their steel tanks and barrels in an old renovated bunker in the area of Bacalan in the North of the City has recently been completed and grapes of 2018 are now maturing there. Last summer their first cuvée named Prélude was bottled: a red blend from hand harvested Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, which combines the folly of youth with a dash of maturity. A maiden voyage of less than 2000 bottles and available in small allocations only...
